As a bartender in my 20s, I began my design career by teaching myself how to use Photoshop and creating event posters and print ads for the bar I worked at. I eventually took a job at Jungle Nightclub where I got my first taste of managing a brand. I now not only designed the ads but guided the look and feel of the brand across print, web, and a burgeoning social landscape (MySpace in those days.)
It was my time at Jungle that solidified my love for design and drove me to seek an education in the arts. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Atlanta and received several awards in my time there including Best of Portfolio Show and Atlanta ADDY Awards Best of Show for student submissions.
After graduation I was brought on as Art Director for David Atlanta Magazine and charged with rebranding and redesigning the long-running weekly publication. Later we launched a monthly sister publication, Goliath Atlanta. While David focused on arts, entertainment, and nightlife, Goliath catered to fashion and lifestyle interests.
I adored my time at those publications but felt it was time to strike out on my own. I’ve been doing freelance work ever since and appreciate the vast diversity of projects that come my way.

Calm from Chaos.
Saturation with
Simplicity.
My design philosophy borrows from the Bauhaus school of thought. Essentially, less is more and if it doesn’t serve a purpose then it doesn’t belong. I believe in bold, angular design that catches the eye with pops of color, strong typefaces, and an organized, minimalist approach to the subject material.
I’m a sans stan; but serifs have a place in my work. I approach each design with the soul of the client in mind. It’s never about my preference; it all comes down to decisions based on who the brand is trying to reach. I can do muted…
If it solves the puzzle.
